Language Therapy and Literacy Treatment

Children's language skills are critical for self-expression, interactive communication with others, listening comprehension, and academic success.

Using a wide variety of materials and techniques, ranging from toddler and preschool level play, art projects, and games, to apps, books and academic materials, we address all areas of language and literacy development.

These include:

  • Everyday Vocabulary
  • Academic Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Listening Comprehension
  • Following Directions
  • Story Comprehension
  • Reading Decoding
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Writing Skills
  • Word Concepts

Each child is unique and requires an evaluation to determine his/her present level of skills and areas of need in relation to age expectations. Parents' input and observations are critical when establishing therapy goals for your child and will be discussed throughout the therapy process. "Homework" and home activities are generally provided and increase children's rate of progress.
